GENERAL •
• minimum length. the minimum word count for each post, not including coding markup, is 400 words. this is not a lot to ask and in fact, i would expect most posts to exceed this minimum. please remember that this is an intermediate/advanced rpg, and you should be able to describe not only actions but thoughts and emotions in each of your posts.
• images & signatures. please do not have oversized signatures/images. anything that stretches the boards will be removed.
• be respectful. there is to be no fighting or disrespectful talk or attitudes out of character.
• mature warn. please be aware that this is to be a fairly realistic representation of greek life. therefore, sex, drugs, alcohol, profanity, fights, etc, are allowed in character. any thread which contains a significant amount of any of these should be marked [R], [M], [XXX], etc, to warn readers of thread content.
• juicy campus. juicy campus is the rumors board on the site. you can PM rumors you want posted to "juicycampus" (the account), and it will be posted. replies are to be made in character, as if your character is responding to what has been posted. an example will be posted. please do not take any of the postings seriously or offensively; it is in good fun and not meant to target anyone (though in real greek life, that is completely false.)
• pledging. upon your acceptance to the site, you will be labeled as a "pledge" (frat) or "new member" (sorority) for roughly three weeks real time, or however long your chapter president might mandate. during this time, you will have restricted duties and priveleges as set forward in "greek info". you can pledge at any age (ie, you may be a third year student at the university, but a first year member of a chapter.)
• ritual, etc. as much of this site is realistic, it should be noted that there is to be no realistic talk about ritual, ceremony, etc. anyone who is pledging or initiated into a greek organization in real life will tell you that all of the information is highly secret, and therefore there is to be no specific discussion or speculation of it. sororities and fraternities are based on a secret ritualistic bond which occurs at initiation that is not to be exploited for the purposes of this site.
• please direct questions to the admin!
GREEK •
• parties. it is mandated by all sorority chapters that there are to be no coed social events held in the sorority houses. fraternity members may only enter the house bearing official announcements or news from their chapters. all parties are, therefore, held at fraternity houses.
• sleeping over. females are not supposed to spend the night at fraternity houses. however, just because it is strongly discouraged does not necessarily mean it does not happen.
• no drinking in your letters. you cannot consume alcohol or smoke anything while you are wearing the greek letters of your fraternity or sorority.
• exchanges. an exchange is a social event at a frat house for that fraternity and one sorority. they are held to serve as mixers, encourage social nature and unity among the greek community. they are usually themed and activity filled -- but also only last about an hour on average. there is no alcohol allowed at exchanges, but usually the exchanges turn into parties.
EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS •
• president. the president of a chapter is responsible for administering all rituals, ceremonies, and presiding at meetings. they are responsible for discipline of members who may commit infractions. they are a resource for the chapter, and are to guide the chapter in creating a positive, accurate image of the chapter.
• social chairs. social chair of a chapter is responsible for putting on all of the social events for a chapter. a sorority social chair would put on the semiformal dances, as well as coordinate any alumna gatherings, sisterhood events (those meant to encourage cooperation and bonding), retreats, and philanthropic events. for a fraternity, they would be concerned with throwing parties, as well as arranging the dances, retreats, and philanthropic events.
• while several other positions exist in real greek letter organizations, these are the only two on the game because of size limits. the available positions will grow with the site.
